AWS GovCloud (US) is an isolated AWS region designed to host sensitive data and regulated workloads in the cloud, helping OC4 customers support their U.S. government compliance requirements, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP). The AWS GovCloud (US) is operated by OC4 employees who maintain active AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional Certification, and are fully vetted as “U.S. Persons”.
AWS GovCloud (US) is available to U.S. government agencies and organizations in government-regulated industries, that meet GovCloud (US) requirements for access. OC4 can run workloads that contain all categories of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) data and government-oriented, publicly available data in the AWS GovCloud (US) Region.
The AWS GovCloud (US) Region supports the management of regulated data by offering the following features:
• Restricting physical and logical administrative access to U.S. persons only.
• Providing FIPS 140-2 endpoints.
Depending on your requirements, OC4 can also run your unclassified workloads in the AWS GovCloud (US) Region and use the unique capabilities of this region.
AWS manages physical and logical access controls for the AWS boundary. However, the overall security of your workloads is a shared responsibility, where OC4 can assist you in your obligation to control user access to content in your AWS GovCloud (US) account.
